Hanoi

Hanoi is Vietnam's capital, since the reunification in 1976. There are 6.4 Million people living in Hanoi. The city was a place of heavy fighting between the French and the Viet Minh (Indochina war) during 1946 and 1954. Hanoi was also heavily bombarded by the Americans during the Vietnam war from 1966 to 1972. On Christmas day 1972 only, the Air Force destroyed 25% of the city, unloading 40,000 tons of bombs. All  the buildings so far seem to be rebuilt..
Hanoi is  very interesting place: a city that includes  the Literature Temple, the pagodas, the museums, the old city quarter north of and around picturesque Hoan Chiem Lake, the opera house, and the Hoa Lo prison, formerly  called "Hanoi Hilton"
